1 Text Openclaw Amazon returns
I setup Openclaw on an old Mac Mini and it's been a lot of fun. I really, really like being able to text from anywhere into a single place.
There's something about having a single place on your phone to dump all thoughts and concerns and todos and ideas and literally everything into that removes the activation energy of using AI to organize your life. I haven't found this path to zero activation energy on Claude Code (if you do please tell me about it).
Today I setup Openclaw to do my Amazon returns. Here's the video I made:
It's 3 minutes long and almost nothing happens other than I type in asking for Openclaw to do the return, and then eventually it spits back that the return is done.
The best AI demos are in fact very very boring, because the user shouldn't actually have to see or do anything.
In fact this screenshot is really the whole demo(!) – I could have included our printer printing the shipping label too, but this return didn't require one.
Openclaw does a couple of things behind the scenes here:
- It goes through all the questions that Amazon asks (why are you returning, have you used the product, etc.)
- It prioritizes refunding the money to my original payment method, and then backfills into giving me Amazon credits
- At the end it sends me and my wife an email with everything I need to know & do next: where to drop off the return, the QR code, the amount of $ I'm getting back.
- And if the return includes a shipping label, my Mac Mini is hooked up to my printer and so it automatically prints the shipping label for me too.
All from a single text that I can do anywhere.
